News to me. If so, then he must be working on my Navy rear sight down there! (lol). Just got an email advising me that he is finishing it up now and I should be receiving it "any day". Frankly, I don't care if he does it Florida, Eastern PA or Eastern Europe.
Incidentally, Lugerman (alleged warts and all) is a very gifted guy. Made sights and barrels for my carbine projects on a reasonable schedule and they are superb. Certainly no greater patience required to get along with him than when working in the past with with an older and better known, very talented smith who has cut and welded baby frames and barrels for me, etc, while maintaining a lower profile than Eugene with respect to provoking whiners (of which I can be accused of being, too, I suppose). A need for patience, it seems, goes with the territoy, whether one be dealing with an artisan whose talents are in short supply, whether one is building a house or playing with Lugers. Now if anyone out in Lugerland can refer me to a good TIG-welder who has some holes in his schedule, I have a few interesting jobs for him/her/it.... Gizmo |
