Just bought a 1911 DWM Luger with British markings. The picture below shows the markings on the bottom of the barrel.<br />

In addition, the frame, receiver, toggle, and barrel all have a small crown over the letters, BNP. I suspect this is also part of the British marking system.<br />
<br />
<br />
Can anyone please explain the meanings of these markings?<br />
<br />

Also, I believe this suggests the gun was captured by the British during or after WW-I and shipped to England. Any other theories?<br />
