Default John Martz passed away

Quote:
MARTZ, John V.
Born August 19, 1924, passed away July 15, 2013 at the age of 88 in Roseville, Ca., surrounded by family and friends. Survived by his loving wife, Neola, sons Michael (Susan), Richard (Sonja), daughter Marie Mort (John), sister Alice Baker, sister-in-law Sally Martz, grandsons John, Steven, Chris Mort (Inkie), granddaughters Jennifer (Josh) Maroney, Kelsey Mort (Kevin), great granddaughter Liberty Mort, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father Orley, mother Alice and brother Walter.

After serving in WWII in the Navy, he retired from McClellan AF Base after 25 years as an aircraft sheetmetal worker in 1976. From 1968 to present he immersed himself in his second career as a self-taught custom gunsmith, working with German Lugers & P-38's. A perfectionist, he overcame scepticism to prove himself as a master of his craft, attaining respect, admiration and world reknown with his custom guns listed in the Blue Book of Gun Values. His sense of humor made him friends wherever he went. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sac...09#fbLoggedOut
