Something to clarify about Mauser Parabellum.

I am wondering whether the serial numbers were continuous from the Swiss style Mauser Parabellum to the PO8 style or whether the PO8 started a new munber sequence. I had a
6", 9 mm Swiss that I bought used in 1972 and a 4" 9mm PO8 that I bought in December 1975 directly from Interarms' warehouse in Alexandria, VA. Unfortunately for me both of them plus 5 other Lugers were stolen from my house in the early 90's.

My old records show that I recorded the '72 or earlier Swiss as 11.013673 and the '75 PO8 as 11.001607. Did I mix up the serial numbers of the two pistols or did the serial numbers of the PO8 start with 11.001001 over again?
