Two weeks ago I came in to p-08 w/ holster, 2 mags and no tool.
The Luger is a byf, 41.W/ wood gripes. W/ wuffen stamps #655. The holster has a name in side the flap, SQ/L. K.F. Vare. RNZAF. SQ/L. Vare, was KIA over Berlin Jan.1or2,1944 in a Lancaster with his hole crew (Hero's All R.I.P.) He also served in the Mediterranean, No.Africa, flying Wellingtons and Far East flying Liberators. During my research I found the New Zealand arms Register, web site. Yes the RNZAF did issued Officers of Aerodromes,WWI and WWII Lugers. My question is did they stamp the back of handle N.Z. For New Zealand? Also the number 83 appears stamped under the N.Z. It doesn't match any other numbers on the gun. Just as soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will, in the next few days!! Thanks, Rick. |
