Default A little more help with British Proof marks

I went to look at the 42 byf with the British proof marks. It looks like the pictures of one you guys supplied on my other posting.
I didn't see any "import marks" on it so my question is how did this Luger get into the country? Was it common, way back when, for importers to sell them without "import marks"? Would import marks be anywhere other than on the receiver or barrel etc.

I'm probably going to buy this one anyway because it is a pretty nice matching number gun with a black bottom fxo mag, but I'm concerned about the devaluation of the British Proof marks and maybe some hidden import marks.

Thanks............levi
