The area under the safety lever was polished bright under the 1900 AE safety lever. These did not have a GEISCHERT safety marking. See page 412 Central Powers Pistols.

Polished bright or just left un-blued???

I also notice there is no loaded-chamber indicator with 'Geladen' on it...That was pretty surprising, too...(The extractor doesn't even protrude when loaded...Is that a later improvement???)
