Padredan, you mentioned in another thread (IIRC) that you had active experience with pawn shops. I have only had interaction with one, "Jerry's Sporting Goods" in Oceanside CA back in 1970 (I bought two pistols & one rifle while stationed nearby).

I don't know anything about pawn shops, their policies, the idea behind pawning, length of time for payments, etc. It would be helpful to know how to pawn, what to expect, if my pawned item could be bought by someone else, etc.

Really a newbie to pawning. I've never watched the shows for many of the reasons previously given by other members here.

I've never been to Louisiana either, so I'm somewhat amused & bewildered that the owner of that pawn shop should call himself (by inference), a 'cajun'...
