Default 1918 DWM

Hello! I just stumbled upon your great web site. There has been a 1918 DWM Luger in our family for years. There is one thing that always made me wonder about this Luger. First off a little about the pistol. It is as stated before a 1918 DWM, Ser # 951X. 1X is on every part throughout the pistol. The Magazine is a wooden based magazine with the guns serial number on the bottom. The full serial numbers are followed by a small single cursive a. What I have been wondering about is the stampings on the front of the grip frame. Right below the trigger guard it is stamped 10/353. What is this stamping? Iâ??ve heard all types of things from it was the unit marking to â??itâ??s a mismatched frameâ? (It is not, the serial number is stamped on the front of the frame!)

Thanks for any information!

Scott H.
