Finally A Not So Dumb Question From Eric

First I tried taking this luger apart and could'nt get it back together. Finally I sent it to one of our Luger Elders who repaired it as long as I promised to never disassemble again. This leaves me with my original question after properly reassembling it. Whats with the strange notch thing and what was its purpose?Anyone?? Your truly Rubber Gloves? And Thanks again to You know who!! PS Is that a name on the side plate? can anyone id these cute little thing?
