Anyone Experience 38/45 Sabots???
Back in the 80's one of my buddies [now deceased] had a LAR "Grizzly" [pic below] in 45 Win Mag caliber (Jim loved magnums). (It was a 45 Gov't model frame elongated to hold/chamber the 45 Win Mag cartridge). He was experimenting with 38/45 saboted loads in the 45 Win Mag cases. I don't recall if he ever got them sorted out or not. They were white Nylon sabots with four slits. He had a big bag of them and on at least one night, I helped him reload a couple hundred.
I was working on my 38/45 Clerke in a standard M1911A1 auto at the time, and never got around to the saboted cartridges. Now I'm thinking of trying a 38/45 sabot in my Colt Gov't model, just for S&G... Anyone know of a source for just the Nylon sabots??? I can't seem to find anything except black powder sabots, and not in 38/45...
