Here's my first attempt at posting a photo on the forum...sorry it's not one of the Lugers I own, but an example of my graphic work on the shell of a calabash gourd (crescentia cujete).
This piece (approx. length 3.5") was done several years ago, made from a portion of one of the shells collected in Vieques, P.R.. Pattern was applied, excised with X-acto knives to expose sturctural shell, leaving its skin as the subject. Then pyro-engraved hair on Spidey, finished with clear polyurethane for best color retention. Unfortunately, it was stolen from the gallery where it was displayed. The owner reimbursed me, but I'd have preferred a regular sale. David Parker |
