First Luger Questions

I am about to get my first Luger, a post-war Interarms Mauser, 6" barrel (I'll post pictures later) that will come with box, test target, and accessories.

My questions are:

1) What is the difference between a "Swiss" frame and German frame? Is the difference easy to see in a photograph?

2) What does the "loading tool" do and how does it work?
