This is a Walther P1 built up over about a year's time with parts from different sources...Frame (built up/complete less recvoil springs and guides) barrel, spare [unused] slide, and used grips came from a member of our our sister Forum; parts kit and magazine came from CDNN.
Frame is marked "GPC W.HURLEY NY" under left grip; "GERMANY" above front of right trigger guard. This frame appears unused, only scratches on it are from me...Bright shiny black finish, sharp edges [ouch!], late hex reinforcement for locking block, serial 38137. All steel parts on frame (except springs, pins, & sear) are Parkerized and appear unworn. CDNN parts kit came with everything except [stripped] barrel, magazine, and frame. Slide was received built up, dated 7/79, "Kal" caliber marking, Parkerized finish, paint still in safety markings. Cartridge indicator cover is quite worn at front, nowhere else. Circle/dot on left side; square containing eagle (?)/413 on right side. 3-digit serial 179. Rear sight is a "U" w/white square underneath. Barrel appears new unused, marked "INTER ORDNANCE MONROE NC" over "WALTHER P1 9x19 GERMANY" on bottom. Bore bright & shiny; no pits or frost. Locking block & actuating pin in raw metal (no finish). Circle/dot and square w/eagle-413 on front. Front sight is a "3" w/white dot. This is a late P1 barrel with the flanged (not pinned) liner. Extra slide is marked 7/81, stripped, Parkerized, no wear, paint in safety markings. Black grips (both sets) are scratched and show wear. No cracks, good checkering, all marked "743" on insides. Magazine is Parkerized, marked "WALTHER" over "P1 9mm" on left bottom; "1005-12-120-0892 12/65" on bottom rear spine. Everything is in great shape. The slide w/barrel did not want to assemble the first time I slid it on (it went on about 7/8 of the way); after a few tries (no forcing), it finally went in. The slide/barrel assembly is a very snug fit on the frame. I rubbed some of the Parkerized parts with 0000 steel wool to give a semi-gloss finish; all will be rubbed eventually. Price was more than some of the P1's on GB; about equal to what Gander Mountain was charging for their P1's last year. Because the frame was semi-built up and the spare slide & 1 set of grips was included with the frame, I ended up with a lot of spare parts. In fact, everything in the pic of the CDNN parts kit (except built up slide) is spares. The P1 grips feel flatter/thinner than my P38 grips (last pic)...I think I need a set of black fluted P38 grips... ![]() BTW: Both slides are the wider style with the high sidewalls. ![]()
