The Bottom line is that if you live in a humid climate. Don't store hand guns in socks (wool, cotton or nylon), or rifles in cases.

I've seen numerous fire arms damaged beyond repair being stored in this manner.

I once helped a gunsmith friend cut and scrape a gun case liner off of a nice old SxS shotgun, after it had soaked in Kroil for a number of days, so he could try to restore it. He did a great job, but it was still ruined as far as the value went.

Bore Stores work great as long as they don't get wet.
