Aside from hygiene, short hair helps treating head wounds which are fairly common and quite messy.
Also part of the persona they have created around this character.
He fits the picture that denizens of namby-pamby land can imagine as the real deal.

I believe in reality, he was a REMF supply guy.
We all had our jobs and it was being there that counts.

I'm glad for him he has been able to turn this into a succesful career.
The old Sgt from "China Beach" used to come around to vet events and tip a few, but he never made it real big.
Nice guy, though.
I love it when Ermy throws the issues at the "crybaby."
I'm not considered a very sympathetic person in issues of intestinal fortitude.
