Re: Erfurt 1916 - all matching in 95%ish condition...

Bought a couple books:

The P-08 Parabellum Luger Automatic Pistol
by David J. McFarland

Luger P'08 Pistol, 9mm Assembly, Disassembly Manual Luger P'08 Pistol, 9mm Assembly, Disassembly Manual
by Skennerton

Also downloaded Mitchell's Mausers P-08 manual.

The books and manual seem to be about the same - interesting though. I thought it was interesting that field strip was not mandatory after shooting. Just an "assembled" cleaning. Field strip if really dirty. The grease thing kinda got me though. I'm thinking CLP only. You guys do the assembled clean too?

My intention is to use this as a shooter. Maybe 200 or so standard ball rounds a year - not much. Before that I will have good smith check it out in detail and change out the springs, keeping the old ones. Will buy a couple Mec-Gar mags so as not to use the original numbered ones.

Is a cheap repro takedown tool sufficient?

Seems like Luger Doc is the go to guy for parts!

Anyhow, that's all I can think of right now. Thanks for whatever advice you can give me!
