Absolute newby to the Luger here. I have a quick question about the finish on a 1918 DMW that I picked up this weekend. It came from an estate auction where about 8 p08's, some broomhandles and numerous other C&R guns were auctioned so I have no history from the previous owner.
My question is about the finish. I have been told that since the trigger and a couple of the other parts appeared blued that it must be refinished. There is also a question about the DMW logo and most of the other markings appear to have a gold tint to them as if filled in. All the numbers match except no number on the magazine. Is there anything that screams refinished? I mostly want to know since I'd be more prone to shoot it if it's a refinish. Excuse my oily fingerprints. The finish is actually very even. The smudges on the finish especially the top are oily prints. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
