The first day of April 2009 is kind of sad because of the legislation in South Africa. From today all weapons which licences have not been renewed under the newest act, is under threat to be lost for their owners in South Africa.
I am still a newbie on the forum, and hope that I will be accepted in the "boffins" forums. Hopefully we can share, and relate to the never ending eb and flow of changes in life and management of countries all over the world. Yes, my Luger 1911 DWM will have to be carried over into my son's name within 3 months, be de-activated, sold to someone or handed over to the Police to be destroyed. If we are not successfull to transfer the weapon to my son, our family will lose it. (see 1911 DWM Namibia under new collectors forum) I really do not have questions at this time. What I do have, is information to buyers and collectors. In South Africa, there will be persons that have to sell firearms, get rid of them, or do anything, or surrender them to the police. I do not have the contacts but if you do, use them and there might be rewards awaiting. I am not a activist and do not wish to stir trouble-but in the next 3 months (till end of June) there is time to aquire firearms, for their legal owners could be unlegal in 3 months time.
