Default BYF 42 - Numbered Grips?

I am cleaning a bunch of firearms for a friend. His house caught fire and there was a lot of smoke damage. The firearms, for the most part, belonged to his father. There are a few neat pieces in the collection, including a nice BYF 42 Luger.

The Luger seems to be all-matching (except magazine which is wooden bottomed) but for the grips which are not numbered or marked. They do have the correct wear and patina for the pistol. Might these grips be original?

Thanks in advance.

Eric
