Default General TAC Confunglement

Afternoom, All - tac and ig here visiting an old friend in Eugene OR, and holding an interesting old shooter piece that I'm certain will generate some interest someplace.

As y'know, I don't know that much about Lugers, and I need some help with this one.

Details as follows -

Serial #3878r, strawed parts and breech date of 1937.

Toggle assembly - S/42 including the striker are numbered 11, except for the axis pin, which is stamped 78 to match the rest of the gun.

Inspection marks are eagle 53 and eagle 63 plus one without a number.

Barrel gauges at 8,83.

The pistol is in NRA 90% overall, and the barrel needs some shooting - a matter that we will be addressing with some degree of urgency pretty soon.

The magazine is very fine - around 95% and is an aluminium-bottomed #8960. Maker is 122 with eagle 37 stamped top and bottom of the blued housing.

Any help in giving us an ID on the various parts of this fine shooter would be much appreciated.

Ron, are y'there, old buddy? Post some piccies will ya?

Best to all...

tac
