Hi,
The Mauser Parabellum of the 1970s was shipped in several types of boxes. Although all boxes had the same layout (cardboard, white lid with Mauser logo) several small differences existed. The guns meant for Interarms had the Interarms name and address on the box and the Parabellum logo in a gothic style, while those for the other markets had the Mauser logo, a Parabellum lettering in a modern style and the Mauser address. Now, we know that Mauser changed it's name in the late 1970s following a takeover by the Diehl group. The name 'Mauser-Werke AG' changed to 'Mauser-Werke Oberndorf GmbH'. The name change is also visible in the manuals and on the gun's grip straps. My request is: please check your cardboard Mauser Parabellum boxes and report: -The serial number (4 digits on the box side) (optional, I understand if you don't want to disclose it). -Whether the gun is an interarms version -Color of the box base and lid text (blue or green) -Name and address on the box (Interarms / Mauser-werke AG / Mauser-werke Oberndorf GmbH). -The addres on the back of the manual, if present (or 'none' if not present). |
