Default Enamel paint removal from sight

Fellow Luger afficianados,

A friend recently gave me a 1970's Mauser that is in pristine condition apart from what appears to be white enamel model paint on the serrated front sight. I did a search here and found tangential references concerning paint sticks used to highlight stamped markings, but want to ask advice before I try to clean up the front sight on this gal (I don't want to wreck the bluing). Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Michael
