Almost 2 years ago, my dear friend GT salvaged an FXO type magazine for me that I had purchased from eBay.
When I found the listing the photos were dark so I couldn't tell that the mag bottom had been crudely replaced with a homemade wooden bottom. It was an UGLY bit of work and the magazine tube had been twisted by the previous owner so that it wouldn't even enter more than halfway into a Luger frame. GT used his excellent magazine tools to properly reshape this mag tube so that it entered and slipped out of both of my Lugers with ease. What he couldn't do was replace the "half moon" shaped pieces that the previous backyard mechanic had cut out of the bottom of the tube so that his bastard wooden bottom would have a place for the knobs... So GT did the next best thing... he fitted the modified tube with one of his excellent unmarked aluminum bottoms. The result is that it is the finest shooter magazine that I own. It has never caused a hangup feeding either of my Lugers. I just wanted to show off GT's great mag bottom and the quality of his work. You will notice that in the vicinity of the knobs there is a small triangle of missing metal on the tube. This was the work of the previous owner who mangle this magazine... GT recovered this magazine and it will be serving my grandchildren long after I am gone. Thanks GT! I know I have thanked you before, but I wanted the whole Luger community to see your excellent work. Kind regards, John ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
