This is a real long shot. About 5 yrs ago I bought a Luger from a neighbor in Oregon. His father had been on Eisenhower's staff and brought back several items (K-43, 98k, Mauser HSc, Luger etc). I'm pretty sure my neighbor's father didn't shoot any German soldiers and he probably stole some of Ike's whiskey and traded it for the guns.
The Luger is somewhat unusual. It is a DWM, 9mm, no chamber date, crown N on left side of frame, waffenampt WaA66 on rt. side, sear safety, police unit marking on front grip strap, same unit marking on the holster, all matching s/n 4466t, about 95% cond. It has two matching mags; a wood bottom marked #2 and an aluminium bottom marked #3, both with s/n 4466. I'm trying to locate mag #1, which I think is probably a wood bottom. I know I'm searching for the needle in the haystack but it's worth a try. Don |
