Is this WW I Luger ammo?

I figured if I was going to get a straight answer it would be here.

A friend has given me 3 boxes of ammo to sell and I need to know if they are what he says they are. He says it's Luger ammo, one of the boxes was open and the ammo is headstamped, clockwise from 12 o'clock...... Ge. 17 D 7

Two of the boxes are stamped 1917 and the other is 1918.. each is full, 16 cartridges.
