Band of Brothers gun
Kids got me the DVD set of HBO's Band of Brothers for Christmas and just now getting time to watch them all. Heck of a series and really appreciated the interviews with the surviving vets.
On the 'extras' DVD they did an hour synopsis with lots of interviews. Toward the end of it Dick Winters showed a German pistol and holster he had received from a surrendering German major at the end of the war. In the movie scene the officer was turning in a luger, but the gun Winters showed during the interview was definitely a smaller gun. He mentiones that the gun was never fired and that he's never fired it either. So couple of questions for the forum. Does anyone know what the make/model of that pistol is? And would anyone care to take a stab at what a such a gun, would be worth? Haven't had time to check the forum lately....darn day job, but always appreciate the responses from folks, esp the 'regulars'. Thanks in advance. tony |
