If it were my money, I'd rather this one...
1936 S/42 The capture paper is a nice addition but I don't think it justifies nearly doubling the price. The medal is just some more fluff, IMHO. If you have money pouring out your fanny, the $3,000 isn't a big deal. But if you're saving your money for your first Luger, $3,000 will buy you this nicely collectable Mauser and a couple of shooters. But, as I said, that's just my humble opinion... And remember, always try to talk them down in price. They're interested in selling their inventory as quickly as possible, not collecting dust. I'd offer them $1,450 for it and see what they say. If you're still stuck on your pick, offer them more like $2,600 or something in that neighborhood.Good luck and welcome to our obsession...
