Default Here is the Gibson quote...

The Krieghoff Parabellum - R. Gibson Second Printing pp42 in reference to the plastic grips...

"...Both [grips] have two screw holes in the inside of of each grip, drilled and tapped to accept a grip screw. These holes were for the removal from the mold. Additionally, these holes conveniently serve to safeguard the screws from loss during disassembly. The grip screw is simply screwed into the back of the grip once it has been removed."..

A couple of interesting points..

First, to the question I asked above - it appears that Gibson believes these were tapped after molding...

Second - and to Patricks point that the threaded pin holes are a different size/thread - I wonder if Krieghoff grips are different then BYF grips, and HK grips are tapped while a BYF BW is not??

Now - I'll have to go home and strip the grips off an HK and a BW to see..!!!!
