Hello,
I have been looking for a shooter for a while now and I have not been very lucky so far . Since 4" barrels are prohibited in Canada, I am looking for a shooter that has a barrel lenght of at least 106mm (4.17 inches) so that the Luger is "restricted" instead of "prohibited" (4.2" is a lot less dangerous than 4" ). I've been in contact with a few peoples (Canadians) and I quickly found out that 4.2" and 6" Lugers are very hard to find north of the border. So I am contemplating buying one from the USA except that I have no idea what's involved in getting a pistols to the border for exportation. I've already been through the Canadian Gov paperwork "maze" except that they mentioned something about an "american export permit" and "FFL dealer" and "exporter" !!!! Could anyone shed some light on this for me? Are these clowns in a suit yanking my chain (they have a way of making it look complicated to discourage people from acquiring even more guns ) Does anyone have experience exporting guns out of the USA?
