Student question on P.08

Many thanks to all of you that responded. I understand more than I knew before......so this begs the question:

Is my Mauser 1938 S/42 a P.08? It has two acceptance marks on the right of the frame, that is, the straight wing eagle over 83 and another over 63. Also a proof mark to the right of the eagles and the same mark on the barrel. Serial 2883n all matching except magazine. Has the "thingy" on the rear for a stock. Estimated production 113,800.

P.08 or not?
