Well, this gun is sweet and accurate, but display a small problem during the range testing yesterday! Here is what I sent Dok via email:
Fired ONLY HP ammo, my handloads of 115 gr Winchester Silver tip ammo with 5.5 grs of Unique Powder, mixed cases and primers. The Good/Bad and UGLY is reported as follows. Fired about 35 rds Good- Gun is accurate as hell, final grouping is right on with sight adjustment, I will have to measure the group, but the last 6 rounds was in the 1" to 1 &1/2" class at 15 yds. Good-ZERO failures to feed, ZERO failures to Fire, ZERO failures to Eject even when firing super rapid. Usually if I have a failure to feed it will be with Hollow point ammo, but the Jewel was perfect. Good-no auto fire, yippeee UGLY-nothing is UGLY about this gun. BAD-only had 30 rds and limited time to enjoy. Bad-a peculiar thing is going on with the hold open device. Sometimes in a middle of the string the hold open would engage. spring might be weak, but this is something we might ask Tom Heller about. Sometimes the gun wouldnt lock back after the last round, this might be low power ammo. I did clean the hold open channel so it didnt bind at all. Another range session MIGHT be in order, but you might must replace the hold open or you might have to shoot it a bit to make sure this is a continuing problem. All in all I was very happy with the Jewel prowess. She is a beauty! Any thoughts on this anomoly? Ted |
