A good P.38 would be a great choice as a similar carry weapon. I use one about 1/3 the time, a 44 magnum is my choice for the road trips and I carry a 45 H&K Compact or a .357 Magnum the rest of the time. I think a P.38 is a good weapon and I trust mine. This is my "747" P.38 that I carry!
