Latest News on the British Ban on Handguns

Secretary of State Lord Bassan of Brighton has just answered a question in the House as to the the statistics on the illegal use of handguns for the year 2000: 42 murders, 310 attempted murders, 2561 robberies and 204 burglaries occurred connected to the illegal use of handguns throughout the country (no handguns whatsoever are legal in Britain). This represents a one third INCREASE compared to 1999 and is the third and largest increase since the ban in 1977.Bassan made no comment on these statistics.So now we can calculate how many murders etc Tony Blair would have on his conscience if he had one.
