I'm looking at a newly surfaced and unreported "H.P." unit marked BKIW DWM Police Luger sn 7258 in the "u" block. It has a sear safety and no stock lug.
I'll inspect it tomorrow, but I have a question for collectors familiar with them. The unit mark appears normally on the front gripstrap, but it also has been stamped with serif typeface dies on the front right side of the receiver (where military proofs are normally located on military accepted pistols). H. P. 444. Have any others in the H. P. marked pistols found in the "u" block been marked this way? Thanks, Marc
