Tonights pick up 1941 Mauser Banner Eagle L

Just brought this baby through the door about 30 minutes ago.
Not pristine but a decent example of a scarce? Pistol.

I am just lucky to stumble upon this one. How scarce are they and How can I tell if it is a small number variant Please let me know what you think.

It is an all matching except magazine piece all small parts stamped with 08. Also has an x suffix.

I beleive the mag is an aftermarket piece as it appears to have a chrome plated body with a plastic? bottom, Has a cursive P on the base of the spine/
