It was found off Ft Pierce the Spanish Fleet was lost in the hurricane in 1715. Its an eight Real mined in Potasi Bolivia by slave indians. There is a singular round small proof mark which King Philip IV ordered after he found he was being ripped of my his own assayer. He demanded all coins be reproofed and stamped. King Phillip ordered that his dishonest assayer to death. Some were found to be less or chipped off pieces of silver and less remelted and restruck. This is an exaple~ The crack was made when when restamped and the non conforming were rejected and returned to the furnance, Thus very rare. Early Us traded the spanish milled dollar as our currency. You will notice an "8" equivalent to our dollar. We are called the Treasure Coast for that reason!! My mistake 1715 fleet and dated 1690~~~Sorry I drifted off topic~
