Default single-digit or two-digit serials ...

'Any members have Lugers with single digit or double-digit serial numbers, of whatever sub-script ?

Did they by any chance use a preceding zero for 01, 02, 03 etc. up to 10, 11, 12, ... or just 1, 2, 3, .... 9, 10, 11 etc. ?

I personally have a double-digit Luger in the l block, but don't think I have ever held another double-digit Luger, and never have seen a single-digit one, neither in person nor even in a photo. Although that is only about 1/10 of 1% , say of 1,500,000 conservative guesstimate made with the military-pattern serialization, that would be at least 1,400 examples made with a single-digit for a serial number. Enough for some to have survived with any luck, but I would think this constitutes a rarity in its own right, whatever other characteristics, garden-variety or otherwise.
