I think I have an early 1914 Erfurt P08, serial number 2506 with no letter. The frame has no artillery sight cut, the sear is not relieved and there are proof marks on everything including the grip screws. Its all matching numbers including the grips with fine non-pitted bore. It has 60-70% blueing with some pitting as in the photos. I've shot it and it functions perfectly. It also has the holdopen catch. Yesterday I saw brief mention by another person on Jan Still's forum about the early 1914 as opposed to the late 1914 so I had to check mine out.
I can't find any reference to this type pistol variation in the Lugers at Random book so I'm hoping that you can tell me about it. Hopefully including comments about scarcity. Thanks Charlie The first photo shows some redness on the takedown lever button but thats just the light. Last edited by Ice; 06-26-2009 at 05:19 PM. |
