Hello all
Here are a few picutres of an somewhat unusual 1912 Erfurt. It apparently was initially issued to the Bavarian 16th Infanterie regiment, Company 11, weapon 4. The unit was know as the 16 Bayerisches Infantrie Regiment GroSherzog Ferdinand von Toskana. The unit fought in the Some in 1914 and 1916 and in Flandern, Lothringen, nancy, Siosons, Oise, Marne and Aisne. After WWI it appears the Luger was given to a Barvarian paramilitary group, the Einwohnerwehr Bayern. This group branded their initials in the right grip. Finally the Luger came into U.S. after WWII as a war prize and was found in a 1941 holster. ![]() |
