Added photos of the face to the print was a very common practice. Sometime it is just one soldier and very often it the same soldier in three different uniforms. Often the size of the head is to small or to large for the body of the soldier. I have several of these. Most have the city on it, but one I have did not have the city but I identified the city by finding a regimental stein with the same unit that named the city. However that German city is now part of France.
