Luger Frames different shapes?

Ok im currious about the frame of the luger specifically the grip, Is it just me or does it look like lugers grips come in different shapes and sizes? some look bigger or wider then some others look sleeker or shaped different, does this just depend on the year or the manufacture of the lugers to why their grips look different? or am i just seeing things. Crap i dont even know if i worded that right... >_<
