thanks Dwight for the info and the sideplate picture.

I realize I have most of the information that I can get, but I was reading The Luger Story by Walters, and he states;

Kenyon states approx 3,000 AE 9mm.

my question is;
I am guessing that after WW1 there were 9mm american eagles made, but they'd be serial number ??
