Matt-Hartverchromt Mauser Parabellum

Hello Fellows,
I am very glad to show this absolutely interesting Matt-Hartverchromt Mauser Parabellum . This pistol has been ordered in 1971 and released by Mauser in 1972. The pistol is in 9mm and it is dated 72. I just received it and let me say that was a quite expensive deal .
Now this pistol has a great collector interest for the following reasons:

1) First of all for the chrome finished: Mauser produced only few Parabellum chrome finished. The fact that this pistol wears the ivory grips and the gold plated â??small itemsâ?� increases the collector value. Note that also the Mauser Banner is gold plated.

2) The pistol is a transitional model (29 and half model). In fact it is dated 1972 and it is a mix of 29/70 and 06/73 parts. According to Mauser it was possible to order pistols with the â??P06â?� frame in the late â??71. But Mauser started the normal production only in 1973. Note that this pistol has the frame and barrel in 06/73 configuration but the trigger, the side plate, the safety lever and the take-down bolt in 29/70 configuration.

3) The following internal parts are numbered with the last three digits of the serial number:
Rear Toggle, Side Plate, Breech Block, Safety Lever.
Now I guess you remember that I have opened a topic concerning the internal numbering. Up to now, I was convinced that Mauser numbered internally only the rear toggle link in the early production and in the late contracts (like the Bignami contract) the previous aforementioned parts. Now this pistol belongs to the early production and has the aforementioned parts internally numbered like the late production. It means that Mauser, for the entire production, applied different kinds of internal numbering: Nothing, only the Rear Toggle or Rear Toggle, Side Plate, Breech Block, Safety Lever.
Why Mauser applied these different rules is hard to say but I guess that it is mainly related to the stocked time and to the â??qualityâ?� of the pistol.
