I aquired a Luger marked 1939 with a holster marked 1938 from my father's estate. The story goes that my father took it off a German officer and brought it back from Europe after WWII. This gun is in remarkably good shape. Holster wear but no rust is visible to me. All parts appear to be matching numbers. As far as I know this gun has not been fired since my brother and I fired three rounds from it in the early 1960s.
Eventually this gun/holster will be sold to raise funds to defray cost of Aldzhimers care for my mother. But it needs to have some kind of "official" appraisal or maybe not for sale on this forum or locally. This is a request for someone with knowledge of Lugers and in the California/Oregon border for assistance. I would be willing to travel to you and pay an appraisal fee to get this done. Anybody that can assist please post here or email me at: JohnHenryEllis@hotmail.com. I will try to post pictures some time this week when I can borrow a camera from work.
