Every once in awhile I get an idea. Sometimes it's a good one and many times not. This one on the surface seems useful but I will leave it up to the forum members and the Web master to determine if it is practical.
While purusing the Technical section on the dismantling of a P08, I thought how nice it would be if I could view the step by step process as a video clip. The video clip could provide more clarity than a still picture as to the process. If someone has a digital camera and the know how it could be done. Whether the WEB site has the space to store the data is a question for the WEB master. If other members of the forum think this has merit, respond here and maybe over time it may come to pass. Regards; |

I vote yes. It's a great idea. The video could be compressed and would not take up much space on John D.'s server. What do you say John D.?
Now all we need is someone to make the video and tranlate it to an AVI file or MPEG... |

I thinks it's a great idea. I think it would be just as useful to also have a video of reassembly.

Yea, QuickTime would be good...or whatever format used the least amount of space and loaded quickly...
I think this should be a downloadable file too so connection to the web site would not be necessary to run through it. |

I would be happy to tackle this job, but availability of time is a very big issue at the moment.

Robert,
It's a great idea, but of a technical magnitude that may mean it doesn't get done. What is involved is someone with access to a digital camera/camcorder, who could record the process, and then convert those images to digital medium (AVI, MPRG, QuickTime or even animated GIFs). John Sabato has all the bits but is too busy to tackle the job, and I don't know of anyone else who is technically competent in the various disciplines to pull it off. I think space exists on the server. We'll keep it in the back of our minds for a later opportunity perhaps. Dok |
