I have been in contact with a dealer about a "Stoeger" Luger that he has listed in a classified ad at gunsamerica.com. He stated that they are currently made in Texas and take about one week to order. Can anyone confirm this, or shed some light on who does still make them?

glondy, if you do a search on Stoeger you will find lots of information.
I probably won't remember the order, but the 1970's Mauser made Lugers then marked Stoeger, then the stainless ones were made by Mitchell, then Orimar, if you look at the links section (provided you came through www.lugerforum.com ) you will see that new STAINLESS ones are made, Stoegers have not been made for years. And of course realize that the 22 Stoeger is a look-a-like and is NOT a true Luger, although it is cool looking. Ed

Ed,
Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I wanted to know. I had done the search as you had stated before I asked the question. The reason that I was confused was because he was calling the Luger a "Stoeger". Thanks again for your help. |

Stoeger owns the rights to the name "Luger", and their use of the name, is the one reason that Luger is used so much in the US, and for some people they almost seem to be interchangeable...
