Post Bronze base magazine

I have a 1918 DWM 'm' date w/o proofs or acceptance marks or caliber stamp on underside of barrel. This P-08 has been in the family for quite awhile so I know a bit of it's history. It came w/ a bronze or possibly brass based nickle magazine w/ no markings of any sort. The magazine follower appears unused, additionally, the pistol shows no indications of ever having been unfired. The follower button is missing but I am not sure if it was ever there. I guess my question is; does anyone know anything about this magazine?? Also, I would like to put a button on the follower if I could find one. Does anyone have one and how much? Thanks.

Randy Bessler collectorfirearms has a brass based magazine for sale. It is listed as "Magazine. Dutch. Solid brass base. Unnumbered. Excellent+. $95. Item: LI-50". Here is the picture of the magazine.

I do not know how this magazine is identified as "Dutch". Also I have no connection with Bessler or the sale of this item.

Thanks for the quick response, Ron. How do I contact him? I'm a little new at this and am probably missing something. I would like to talk to him. Dutch

Click on the "collectorfirearms" link that I posted above. Let us know if you find out anything interesting. I have a fondness for Dutch Lugers. Can you post pictures of your Luger or provide more details? I am not sure what you mean by "m" date. Is the "m" on the frame just below the serial number?

Thanks Ron, I went right to it and got his information; also a good site to put on favorites. I will call him and get some information and see if he will deal on the magazine. Dutch

Ron, there is a small m under the serial number on the barrel and another near the serial number on the frame. Dutch

Dutch,
The m is part of the serial number. Each letter of the alphabet indicates an increment of 10,000. So, for example if your Luger was numbered 1234m, this would actually mean that this was the 131,234th Luger produced in 1918 (m being the 13th letter of the alphabet). This is very near the end of WWI production.

Old Dutch, maybe when I move to Denver this spring we can "hook" up and talk lugers?
