Recently purchased a Simson luger serial 43xx,all original except for the mags.Jan Still book calls it a Nazi re-issue. Vet bring back in a 1941 dated holster, one mag is 1940 issue with serial stamped(43xx) on the base, the other is a black plastic base 1942 issue with the serial etched on the side. All near mint,no date on the luger just the Simson name on toggle. What date was this luger made, also any comments???.

Just basic stuff about SIMSONs: Produced from 1922 to 1932, total production about 25 000 3 Variations: 1-Dated WWI Rework, dates 17-18 ( 18 mostly encountered ) 2-Blank chamber, either no date receiver or date grounded off 3- Dated 1925-1928, 25 date most popular SIMSONs were manufactured on ERFURT machinery and are considered SCARCE....so you have A GREAT FIND!
