Oh, forgot to mention that it's got it its matching numbered stock and holster. It belonged to an officer in S.B.III who was captured by the Japanese in 1914.

Phoenix,
Slight correction. It is a Navy 1906 1st issue UNaltered "Gouv. Kiau." Congratulations on your Gouv. Kiau. You are very fortunate. Regards, Ron

Hi Ron, thanks for your comment. It is an ALTERED safety. I will post photos of the complete rig as well as close ups later.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear in my statement. JohnF's Luger, O.M.D.2.6.,is UNaltered. You are correct that your Luger serial no. 3886 is altered. I misunderstood and thought you were going to add John's Luger to your list, but you were saying you were adding your gun to the list of known Gouv. Kiau. Lugers! I apologize for the mix up. I am a little slow sometimes.

Phoenix. I have a list I am compiling of the 1906 variation Navies. I would like to include your pistol. If you send me the following information I will send you a copy of the list.
serial number safety position: altered method of removal of old "gesichert" marking Is the new Gesichert in upper case GESICHERT or lower case "Gesichert" Grip strap or dockyard markings. There is a copy of the list posted on the forum by John Sabato in the Navy section. Thanks, Heinz |

Steve, great, I can already see your old mark was milled off with no filling. Look forward to the rest.

Every so often I am completely dumbstruck by the quality of some individuals collections. To have a treasure like that, that includes not only a rare 1906 navy Luger but also an equally rare stock and holster just leaves me speechless. I have a small collection of maybe 40 Lugers that I am quite proud of and that I am guilty of bragging too much. But then I think on Shattuckâ??s 550+ Lugers and Doug Smiths 451 Luger gun collection (not including one-of-a-kind accessories that even his staff don't know how to categorize). Then I think of the other names that have popped up over time whose collection are in the 200+ area and I feel totally humbled. What I respectfully would like to see though is Phoenixâ??s' pictures of the markings on the straps and any other markings of the holster and shoulder stock posted on the forums owners picture book. Phoenix, your posted picture is great, but it does not do enough justice to entire treasure that you have. More pictures, please.
